Description
Photonis Defense’s UHF or Ultra High-Frequency Mobile Power Tubes are small and compact
for use in a variety of mobile applications where having a sturdy, efficient, and
reliable UHF amplification source is essential.
The UHF Mobile tubes are of ceramic-metal construction to provide enough strength and
close tolerance in high-temperature operations. Even in these high-temperature environments,
Photonis Defense UHF Mobile tubes maintain a reliable, low-temp operation due to their
forced-air-cooled design. Photonis Defense power tubes are also tested for durability
and have a proven track record of dependable performance under severe shock and vibration.
The UHF Mobile tubes are largely used as RF and pulsed RF amplifiers in compact aircraft,
mobile and stationary equipment. They are designed to meet the low noise requirements
of numerous applications and withstand stringent environmental conditions in unpressurized,
airborne communication services. Many of Photonis’ UHF Mobile tubes can also be used as
regulators or in distributed amplifier service.

REQUEST FOR INFORMATIONPower Tube Cavities
For many years, Photonis Defense has been developing specialized circuitry
for power tubes, generally termed “cavities,” as a result of customer demand.
These cavities are complete RF circuits that are necessary to tune and operate a matching power tube.
Each cavity is designed to match a specific tube in order to produce a final high-power amplifier
stage for a specific frequency band and service. Each cavity is an essential part of the
installation and maintenance operations needed for a Photonis Defense Power Tube.
We highly recommend pairing one of our cavities with a recommended matching power tube and can
work with you to determine which power tube cavity your application requires.
